Some of the work i've done has been purely for myself with no expansion in mind. But i think the approach to the original concept lends itself well to the transition of 2D to 3D work. The picture below was made just using brushes, blending, and different colour modes (mainly linear dodge) The concept itself stems from the desire to create an interesting focal point in a piece whilst only using different ranges of colour, contrasting highly in the fore and background for the desired effect. I think this would work well as a 3D environment, but also at the same time i do wonder that since my approach when working on it was never to transition into something else, whether i'd come across issues that i may not be able to solve very easily.
This next image is one i worked on in June last year, working solely from one colour palette to create light and shade in an image. I think this would work very well in Cinema 4D as there isn't very much to go on other than the hight of rocks, and the idea of the desert environment to work with. But the other thing that has been raised through my working of concepts, is that maybe all these concept images fit together somehow, and if that was going to be the case i don't think this yellow themed concept would fit.
This image is one i have been working on and coming back to for a very long time. The concept is the first i ever really fully thought about and sketched from the start, to filling and shading with colour before actually refining edges in colour and removing the guides to work around. It's still unfinished, due to time and skill level i didn't think it was that good an idea to carry on with something that was just going to stagnate over time and not become anything i could work on later. That said, the more i open it up and work on it, the better i feel about the piece. There are still a few sections left to do, namely the mountain on the left hand side which shouldn't take too long to piece together, but i think it fits the style i have established so far in this project. So perhaps, of all the work i have created before, this could be the one that makes it into the considered pile for Cinema 4D adaptations.
