This next brief we have been given to work on is a quick turn around, team based assignment to brand this years Graduation show. Placing myself in a group with two other competent members of the group, we went about brain storming ideas that would showcase each of our specialities best whilst allowing us to fulfil the brief.

The brief states;

This brief is intended for end of year show preparation. Working in teams of at least 3 people you will devise an identity to work on all media/signage, an A3 poster design, an A4 poster design and a 30 sec promo video. The show must be called FdA & BA (hons) Digital Media Design Graduation Show (rather than a name or theme).
You should decide in your team what the roles are, making sure that each person has equal responsibilities. You must make sure that each person takes part in the project. You should all log your individual roles, responsibilities and progress on your blogs.

We must produce;

Show identity
A3 poster design
A4 Poster design
Promo video, compressed

Knowing what we had to produce it was easier to separate roles out and come with ideas

I was put in charge of the larger of the two posters, using themes established in the promotional video, and then using the same theme to create the smaller poster.

Our first ideas was the one that stuck. After toying with the ideas of individual creativity and the ways in which it can be expressed, we all came across the idea of bottled creativity and inspiration, laying it out in a video as if it could be picked up. This lead to the idea of jars containing individual things that would allow us to become motivated and inspired. Jess suggested the idea of space, saying that we could have a twee style to establish a theme and use this to let Dan to animate a series of individual illustrator creations that could be moving around infinite space.

We decided that an astronaut floating over a moon in a jar in space. As Jess volunteered to work on the twee style moon and astronaut, my forte would be the work in the background. With a roughed up idea established, we divided up the work load and i went to work on creating the background that would sit both in the background of the jar, and the background of my poster design.
