The theme itself has many modules that can be manipulated for use in many different areas, one of these that caught my attention is the Highlights module, enabling a small insert of text and an image to be displayed as a menu. So far the only thing i can do to make it look the way i want it to is to make it look like this;

Unfortunately this isn't really what i want and the options are fairly limited, so now with my options as to plug ins limited by my knowledge i think i will have to manipulate modules i have already used in order to create something that looks similar to my wireframing. Although i know my wireframes aren't strictly rigid, it is easier to atleast be able to sift through things that look right.

That aside, one of the things that has been bugging me of late is the fact that comments can be posted on every single one of my pages without me being able to find out how. After looking far too deeply into it, i found a link on the home page of the dash, stating;

One would think this would lead you to the option, but wordpress being wordpress that isn't the case, it instead leads me to a faq section where i can read about it. From somewhere so obvious as this;

It's a shame that it didn't actually lead anywhere, i had to look more into how to sort it;

And came across this bit of text with instructions as to how to do it. Unfortunately that wasn't right either, and with that again it just left me clicking around trying to find answers.

Apart from that, there is now an image module in the Parallax theme that could work as the category sections i mapped out in my wireframes. The titles can be placed on the pictures, and the images themselves become links. Seeing as my site is made primarily of these types of linked images i think turning this into a major part of my site is imperative.

The slider module i previously tried to change in order to accommodate sliding news text became difficult with different sized images. As pictured below, the module would resize itself mid slide and change the layout of the site. changing the image sizes and border colours keeps the module static and fluid.

With the restrictions set by the module, i thought perhaps a plugin would solve the problem. The main one i found that i thought may be of use is one called "News Slider" The reviews aren't great, but it seemed to do what i needed.

But again, wordpress didn't respond too well to it, giving me a fatal error message and leaving me with just the themes modules to use as best i can.
