After working with the Parallax theme for a few hours, 3 main things have cropped up;

  1. The theme has many layouts and modules that can be used, but don't seem to show the user how to enable or disable certain sections of it
  2. Many of the layout functions are buried in rather obscure places within the wordpress dashboard
  3. Using any kind of standard page editor learnt from previous experience with a plugin or a page builder becomes redundant

I am currently still trying to go through all the features of this theme, experimenting with the new options i have, but so far many things are appearing that i have no intention of keeping. For one, every highlight menu picture i post seems to have either an identical icon for it that stacks over everything else and makes the page unusable.

Or it has a massive place holder image that corresponds to nothing in the settings menu. Not only is thing incredibly frustrating, but i am falling behind again with the creation of my site.

Googling the problem provides no answers as no one using this theme has used it for an event site made from content they have not made themselves. Unfortunately in the selection of a theme, i didn't really have any idea of what it was i needed, therefore picking something aesthetically pleasing instead of something that had the potential to work. Either was, it has given me the knowledge that web is not my field, nor will it ever be.
