My last few days in Wordpress have been some of the most frustrating of my existence. Not only is it one of the most confusing sites i've ever used, but everything that i would have thought would be laid out in a certain way to achieve my goals is just ridiculously difficult, and to me, it makes zero sense.

That said, i have managed to change the colour of my site, which up till now is by far my biggest achievement. I have looked up the error message i received when trying to add images and apparently it is a problem with the hosting company or the server, which, seeing as my site was going to be primarily image based, doesn't really help me. The message again is here;

So it seems i will have to find out how and where it is being hosted and work from there, as so far i haven't been able to add any content because of this. I have then tried to manipulate these plugins usage on the page in order to actually make them work, or try and make them visible, this unfortunately has lead me to this error message;

This now means that my site will not work at all when trying to support images, which in turn hinders the creation of my site as it is primarily graphics based. With this plethora of error messages, i have turned to looking at how to build my site away from images for now, laying out what i need on each page in order to just throw in what i need once the plugins are sorted.

I had a look around for a few things that would actually allow me to work on wordpress, unfortunately turning up no results as i'm not actually entirely sure what it is i should be searching for. I made a few posts only to be greeted by a date stamp, an archive-able post and a comments section. I google searched these things and couldn't turn up any results. After speaking with others in my class, it turns out posts are not important and pages should be the sole focus of the project. Although i had spent the better part of 2 days trying to work within posts, i had now been lead to a plug in called Page Builder by Site Origin. This plugin should allow one to to drag and drop sections of the page to fit their needs.

The site is basically a widget selector with the option to move what it is you need around. I've started by just basically outlining my site so i know where everything can be put once the image gallery has been sorted and i can have a chat with a few others in my situation and find the best course of action for my sites endeavours.

I have used my wireframes as the base of my design and thus far i have laid out the home page in this way;

Comparing it to my wireframe, the two seem to line up so far. Although i do not know the limits that i am working to as this is a web project, i'd say with the problems i have come across so far, and waiting for solutions, this is the best i can do. I shall continue to search for widgets and or plugins that will help me with the creation of the site that should hopefully fit within the site origin page builder plugin.
